Dunkinââ¬â¢ Donuts and Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Introduction Dunkinââ¬â¢ Donuts and Krispy Kreme Donuts both have Facebook pages to communicate with their customers and employees. In this paper, both companies will be discussed and the similarities and differences of the two companies and how they communicate with their audience through their Facebook Pages. Building meaningful relationships with customers and employees online requires good interpersonal communication, particularly listening. Social media is now being used by businesses to build relationships. Listening is learning from what your customers are saying. It is tapping into that conversation. It is tapping into that conversation. As mentioned in the introduction, part of having an online presence is being able to listen to the customer, and this is where the biggest contrast in the two companies Facebook pages comes into play. Dunkinââ¬â¢s Donuts Facebook page offers an option for customerââ¬â¢s to post directly to the page, while Krispy Kremeââ¬â¢s page does not allow this. Krispy Kreme offers a poll for customerââ¬â¢s to take and an e-club for customerââ¬â¢s to sign up to, while Dunkinââ¬â¢s Donuts does not offer a poll for customerââ¬â¢s to take, it offers them a way to interact directly with the company by being able to share and post directly onto the companies wall. I have had an interaction with Dunkinââ¬â¢ Donuts Facebook page before. I ordered through the drive thru and picked up my order. The order was wrong, and I posted on the Facebook page about my experience. In a matter of minutes, Customer Service posted back on my wall post expressing their apologies and supplying me with the customer service number to call. I called customer service, and the manager from the Dunkinââ¬â¢ Donuts I went to contacted me. They offered that my next order would be paid for and again expressed their apologies. I was extremely pleased with the service, and the way the company listened, and was able to contact me directly and keep me as a satisfied customer.
